Poet in the Streets

Sins tend to mix with poison kisses

Binding our hearts together

Demons in our eyes come out to play

When breaths mingle in cold weather

The ink in our veins

Tattoo each other’s name on our hearts

And then we realize that dating a writer

Isn’t the best decision

Because true love breaks the depressing curse

When the ink in our veins

Turns to blood

We become normal

Writing lovesick poems

Instead of pure unadulterated truth

That we’ve accustomed ourselves to
